Telluride vs Palisade Performance Specs
One thing is for certain: You’ll never be lacking in power when driving either the Kia Telluride or Hyundai Palisade. Both vehicles are equipped with the same engine, a 3.8L V6. This engine is capable of producing 291 horsepower and 262 lb-ft of torque—power that you’ll come to find is appreciated when making that quick maneuver out on the highway.
Also, you’ll never have to leave anything behind. With the abundant cargo space, there’s plenty of room for your items inside the car. However, with up to 5,000 pounds of towing capacity offered in both the Telluride and Palisade, it’s easy to hitch up a trailer and bring your gear along for the ride.
The Telluride eclipses the Hyundai Palisade in the highly important efficiency department, though. Front-wheel drive models of the Telluride receive an EPA-estimated 20 MPG city/26 MPG highway, while the Hyundai Palisade gets an EPA-estimated 19 MPG city/26 MPG highway.1 Want to go further between fill-ups? Comfortable Cabins Meant for Drivers and Passengers
When it comes to the Telluride and Palisade, 8-passenger seating is the standard in both vehicles. With the 60/40 remote split-folding 2nd-row bench, you’ll easily be able to fold down the second-row seat for more cargo space if you don’t have any passengers traveling along.
It’s also possible to seat seven if you’d prefer with 50/50 remote split-folding 2nd-row captain’s chairs.
If you enjoy having fresh air and sunshine while out on the road, then it’s clear that the Telluride is the better choice for daily drives and weekend adventures.
Kia makes standard a power tilt-and-slide sunroof on its S and EX trims. The Palisade, on the flip side, doesn’t offer a conventional tilt-and-slide roof as a standard feature on any of its trims. Yes, you can upgrade to the dual-pane sunroof, but that can become a costly proposition—one you don’t have to consider with the Telluride.
Tech and Safety Features You’ll Enjoy
It’s nice when your car feels like a home away from home. Both vehicles do a good job of living up to the high expectations you have of your next car. The Telluride and Palisade come with standard 8-inch touchscreens. However, you can upgrade to a 10-inch version with a touchscreen navigation system.
It only takes a few taps to hook your smartphone up through your next SUV, too. With Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ technology, access popular apps, text messages, and saved playlists right on the touchscreen after hooking up your phone.
Safety is something every driver thinks about before stepping inside the cabin. Active driver-assistance technology comes standard in both vehicles, but the Palisade isn’t always able to match what the Telluride is capable of in this area.
Highway Driving Assist, which is standard in the Telluride EX and SX trims, is only an optional feature in the Palisade SEL trim. Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist is standard in every Telluride trim, too. You won’t find that as a standard feature across the board in the Palisade.
