At Jim Sipala’s Kia of Coatesville, our team will take you for a closer look of this economical ride. Read our 2018 Kia Niro review and then stop by to experience the Niro for yourself!
Kia Niro: An Efficient Performance
The 2018 Niro combines a 1.6L four-cylinder engine with an electric motor to deliver an EPA-estimated fuel economy of 52 city/49 highway MPG in the base FE trim.1 That’s truly excellent efficiency, and it’ll keep you away from the pump for a long time, whether you drive on crowed city streets or open, spacious roads.
The Niro’s engine produces 139 horsepower and 195 lb-ft of torque, and it’s paired with a dual-clutch six-speed automatic transmission. Drive the Niro in Sport mode to take advantage of every single one of those horses.
Inside the Kia Niro, there’s a roominess to the cabin that you’ll notice immediately. Drivers and front-row passengers get 40.1 inches of headroom and 41.7 inches of legroom, so riders of any height will have the space to stay limber. In the rear, head- and legroom come to 39.1 inches and 37.4 inches, respectively.
The cargo hold is plenty spacious, as well. Behind the rear seats, you’ll find 19.4 cubic feet of cargo volume, which is more than enough space to store all your groceries or luggage. With the rear seats folded, that number expands to a cavernous 54 cubic feet; you can pack for a camping trip or help a friend move with that kind of space.
The 2018 Niro’s standard infotainment system includes a 7-inch touchscreen display with Android Auto™ and Apple CarPlay™ features. You can conveniently access your messages and music library on the Niro’s touchscreen display. And with Bluetooth® wireless technology, you can make hands-free calls while you keep your eyes on the road.
Test drivers have reported that the Niro’s infotainment interface is simple, intuitive to use, and responsive. There are physical knobs to complement the touchscreen, and they’re well integrated into the interface’s design. Below the knobs, you’ll find an open bin with USB and power ports for connectivity, and charging on-the-go.
