2021 Kia Seltos Engines & Drivetrains

Two separate types of engines lay under the hoods of the 2021 Kia Seltos. A 147-horsepower 2.0L 4-cylinder engine with 135 lb-ft of torque comes in the LX, S, and EX trims. All three trims feature an Intelligent Variable Transmission (IVT), which shifts between different drive modes to help your ride be fuel-efficient and impressive.

Both the LX and EX achieve incredible gas mileage with EPA-estimated 27 city/31 MPG highway, which makes it a great commuter and go-anywhere Kia car.1

Front-wheel drive (FWD) comes standard for S trims, while AWD is an option. The fuel economy for the S trim with FWD is 29 city/34 highway MPG, while the AWD gets the same as the LX and EX trims.1

For thrill-seekers, the Kia Seltos presents a turbo-charged engine with that much more to offer in the S Turbo and SX Turbo, especially in challenging terrain and snowy conditions.

Both Kia vehicles come with a 1.6L 4-cylinder turbo engine and 195 lb-ft of torque, with a 7-speed Quick-Shift Dual Clutch Transmission. They both put out 175 horsepower that helps you reach your goals with gusto.

Except for the S trim, Dynamax™ All-Wheel Drive with Lock Mode comes standard for all other trim levels, but if you are gunning for the S, it is available.

2021 Kia Seltos Brings the Dimensions

No matter which Kia Seltos piques your interest, the dimensions mirror each other. Here’s how it rolls:

Shoulder Room Front/Rear	55.5/54.7 inches

A difference pops up in measuring the allowable head room in the different trim levels of the Kia Seltos. In the LX, S, and S Turbo, you get 40 inches in the front seat and 38.4 inches in the rear, because these trims do not give you a sunroof.

On the other hand, if you do want a sunroof, choose the EX, with 38.5 inches in the front and 38.4 inches in the back seat. Or take your pick—the SX Turbo gives you both options to customize your Kia car!
