Kia Seltos Dashboard Light Guide

Kia Seltos Dashboard Light Guide

The highly versatile Kia Seltos can be your key to Coatesville, Downingtown, and Gap, PA, adventures. That being said, it’s important to take note of any dashboard lights that may come on while driving around Lancaster, PA; Reading, PA; or Newark, DE.

These dashboard lights may be trying to tell you something important about your Seltos. To stay up to date on what they mean, continue reading this Jim Sipala’s Kia of Coatesville Seltos dashboard light guide for more information.

Kia Seltos Warning Lights

Engine Oil LightIf you’re driving the Kia Seltos, be sure the warning lights turn off after starting things up. If any light remains on, that means there is a situation that requires attention.

What lights may you see in the Seltos?

You may see the Air Bag Warning Light. This light lets you know the air bags activate when the Kia car is turned on. However, the light should turn off after six seconds. If there is a malfunction with the Supplemental Restraint System (SRS), this light may remain on. Bring the Seltos to your nearest Kia service center as soon as possible.

The Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) lights up once the engine has been turned on. If there is a malfunction with the emission control system, the light will stay on as you drive. If it remains on the next time you turn the Kia car on, visit our dealership as soon as possible.

One last light worth touching on is the Engine Oil Pressure Warning Light. This light, shaped like an oil can, is trying to tell you that engine oil pressure is low. Drive at a low speed to your nearest Kia service center for service.

Kia Seltos Indicator Lights

Dashboard LightThe Seltos also has indicator lights which will turn on while driving. These lights don’t require immediate attention, but are merely trying to let you know that a certain system or feature is activated.

For instance, when you’re ready to make a turn, it’s always smart to be diligent about your turn signals. This indicator light will flip on when you’re making a turn.

Perhaps you’re looking to the dashboard area to see if Lane Keeping Assist (LKA) is activated. This illuminates when you press the LKA button. If there is an issue with the system itself, the yellow LKA indicator will turn on.
