Kia Sorento Dashboard Light Guide
If you’re driving the Kia Sorento around Coatesville, Downingtown, and Gap, and you see a light turn on in the dashboard area, you may be wondering what the Kia car is trying to tell you.
There are various dashboard lights, and with so many different ones, you may be wondering what they mean. Jim Sipala’s Kia of Coatesville is taking a closer look at Kia Sorento dashboard symbols, so you know what to do when these lights turn on in Lancaster, Reading, and Newark.
Sorento Dashboard Lights
In general, for any Kia car that’s out on the roads, orange or yellow lights describe a potential concern to keep track of. A red light will typically indicate a more serious concern that requires immediate attention. Let’s look at some of these dashboard symbols and what they mean.
Engine Oil Pressure Warning Light
This light will let you know there’s an issue with the oil pressure, or oil itself. If you see this light turn on while driving, it’s best to pull over as soon as you can and turn the engine off.
What to look for? This red symbol is shaped like an oil can.
Low Tire Pressure Warning Light
This yellow light is letting you know that tire pressure is low in at least one of the tires. It’s best to check all four tires, adding air as needed. If the light remains on, there may be a puncture or leak. Our technicians can diagnose the potential issue.
What to look for? This light looks like an exclamation point surrounded by tire treads.
Low Fuel Level Warning Light
If you’ve been driving for quite some time, you may see this light turn on. Get to your nearest gas station as soon as possible and fill up.
What to look for? This yellow light looks like a fuel pump.
Malfunction Indicator Lamp
Otherwise known as the check engine light, this will turn on if there’s an issue with the engine itself. Flashing of the light (then turned off) can indicate an engine malfunction. If the light remains on, the issue may not be serious, but should be looked at as soon as possible. If the light continues flashing and does not turn off, the engine is likely misfiring.
What to look for? This light is shaped like an engine, and will be yellow in color.
