Kia Sorento Configurations

Kia Sorento MPG will vary, depending on the configuration you choose for this Kia vehicle. There are five different trim levels to choose from: L, LX, S V6, EX, and SX.

The powertrain will depend on which trim level you select. The L and LX trims come with a 2.4L 4-cylinder engine that makes 185 horsepower and 178 lb-ft of torque. However, when you choose one of the other trims, you’ll be the proud owner of a powerful V6 engine. This 3.3L V6 engine makes 290 horsepower and 252 lb-ft of torque.

Every Sorento trim also offers standard front-wheel drive (FWD). In addition, every trim level but the L trim allows you to upgrade to the available Dynamax™ All-Wheel Drive (AWD) system. This will improve traction and stability on the roads, but it will have an impact on Sorento MPG.

The Kia Sorento engines ensure you’re able to enjoy strong performance on local roadways, whether you’re on I-95 or traversing back roads in the winter. With the entry-level Kia Sorento L trim, you’ll get an EPA-estimated 22 city/29 highway MPG with the FWD setup.1 On the LX trim, you’ll get the same MPG out of the 4-cylinder engine, but with available AWD you can get an EPA-estimated 21 city/26 highway MPG .1

Of course, as mentioned above, there is an available V6 engine under the hood of the Sorento. With this engine setup, you’ll get an EPA-estimated 19 city/26 highway MPG with FWD.1 Upgrade to AWD, and you’ll get an EPA-estimated 19 city/24 highway MPG.1
